The future of sports betting appears to be Horse Racing Simulation. One of them currently being Pegaxy, the most prominent horse racing game in the play to earn space. The links between gambling and gaming are more crucial than ever in Pegaxy. Is its future promising or destined to be another game to pass up?
Introduction to Pegaxy
Pegaxy is a mythical 3D simulated horseracing game developed on the Polygon Network. It was released back in November 2021. Developed by a large team located mainly in Vietnam and playable on any compatible browser or mobile app.
You can obtain a Pega with bloodlines such as Hoz, Klin, Zan, and Campona by renting or purchasing it; in my situation, a scholarship allowed me to begin. It was easy getting one because more guilds from discord were offering open slots.
Tokenomics and Earnings
Pegaxy, like many other games, features two in-game currencies. The most common coin is $VIS which can be used to cash out, followed by $PGX (Governance). PGX is also necessary for Pega breeding and rental. Even though the price of tokens has topped and collapsed due to the “milking” of scholars and players, the game continues to be a hot topic.
MetaMask is the sole wallet of the game. Integrated with the game's competitive board, breeding process, and marketplace. They've built it up so that players won't have to worry about gas fees.
Managing scholars, selling Pega NFT, and earning $VIS from the race are the three main ways to get money. Because Pegaxy supports scholarships, they’ve created a fantastic system for it. You will need cash to start though because the game is not free-to-play.
Gameplay
With the aim of placing in the top 3, Pegaxy offers a fast-paced Horse Racing Experience in 3D display. 14 opponents will compete against you. Even while it seems competitive, the game is still not skill-based or player-controlled; instead, winning mostly depends on randomness, with some help from your pega's stats. Whether it has a high rate of lightning, water, fire, wind, strength, or speed. Thankfully the player-controlled function is close based on the roadmap.
You won't run into any issues as long as you have 1 Pega because of its special ecosystem, enabling free races for all – having 25 energy per day to spend on racing and 1E/hr refill time. There are five categories for rarity: Pacer, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Founding. The race differs as it will consist of a similar rarity according to your pega: it also means the reward pool of $VIS increases with rarity.
The audio is awful. Except for the sporadic arcade-style woosh and dash, it is essentially nonexistent. Where are the ominous music and mechanical noise? For the race to appear authentic, there should be people on the side cheering.
Conclusion
Right now, Pegaxy is a mediocre game. As players, we seek out compelling content. Because clicking and waiting for the result felt monotonous, it would be better if the controls were like Mario Kart. The fact that token value has remained so low makes it feel almost pointless to play but the game's scholarship program and free races are what I appreciate about it because they let gamers try it out without spending any money. Therefore, if you want to try it, it's not too difficult. Pegaxy, in my opinion, doesn't have a promising future and I’d recommend passing on it for now.
