Swords Of Blood: Is it the Diablo of Web3?

Blockchain technology has been a significant game changer in the gaming industry since 2020 with its introduction to the opportunity of making money. We could notice Guilds of Guardian making every effort to top the mobile RPG genre rankings. But someone is making noise – Swords of Blood takes on the challenge to become the Most Popular AAA-RPG, surpassing the well-known 'Diablo.'

What is "Swords of Blood"?

Swords of Blood is an upcoming SOLANA-based mobile hack-and-slash game. Absolutely new to me as it emphasizes the use of solely melee weapons. They coined a new phrase in Web3 called P2O, or "Play-to-Own." Players in P2O play for free to add the stuff they acquire to their personal inventory. Meanwhile, Q4 2022 is the anticipated date for the Alpha with the Beta to follow closely after.

According to the website, the team that created Battlebound - SoB, has more than 80 years of collective experience, leading with the well-liked Call of Duty, Halo Infinite, and Assassins' Creed. It was wise to employ a musician to oversee the music and sound design. If you are familiar with the principal author of The Witcher and Cyberpunk, he is currently the SoB lore writer.

Tokenomics and Earnings

The token will be $SWDTKN. It can be purchased and earned. Earning is done through tournaments and battles. Everything a player does in the game earns him money. It’s normal to sell stuff, equipment, skins, and potions, but if you want to earn a bigger amount, then focus on upgrading and unlocking weapons.

Story

The plot is similar to other RPGs where you must defend or fight against Demons and Beasts.  I appreciate how it explains that the Monster rebellions were started by a former Sentinel (Goddess protector) dubbed Dragon Betrayer. He grew stronger and eventually conquered the World of Ezura. It led to the last man known as Bladebound, resurrected by the Sentinel to restore peace to the world currently at war. A Goddess asking that daring task. If I were that man, I would defy that command, but it's the premise, so we must go with it.

Gameplay

From what we’ve seen in the gameplay video, you have your preferred kind of character with it being a battle mage, sword master, or blade bound, holding a sword, and going to a dungeon and fighting demons or other players. You get the gist of it; a player will have to complete quest and missions in order to advance the story.

Supported in top isometric perspective, ideal for fans of dark fantasy dungeon crawlers, vicious hack and slash games, and rogue-like role-playing games! Moreover, with the intended looting mechanisms, destroying everything won’t be a problem as long as it is within reach of the hero's blade.

The graphics are reminiscent of traditional RPGs but with a unique UX and 3D animation. It's like providing you with an improved Diablo.

Conclusion

Swords Of Blood is gaining attention from many players as the release date approaches. The playstyle of using only sword skills and their unique earning mechanics in the WEB3 RPG space is surely the reason. Solana is also essential because it is inexpensive and easy to make transactions. I just hope they include features to avoid "token death." After all these, I still can’t say it will surpass Diablo because the game hasn't been out yet, but it will be fun because of the PVP plans. Since the title is a free-to-play game, I would try it to see whether it is the next Diablo or your next addiction.
