Do you ever just want to go to a fantasy world where you can start a new life with a more chill approach to things and maybe just build your own village and have fun with friends? Moon Frost offers this experience with the added benefit of earning from having fun! Let’s take a look at this Play-to-earn life simulation RPG in the Solana blockchain!
Graphics/Art style
Moon Frost is a 2D multiplayer life simulation RPG that is, for the most part, comparable to Stardew Valley. It creates a sense of nostalgia with the isometric 3D design it features that’s reminiscent of old indie games.
Part of the similarity to Stardew Valley that players may associate Moon Frost with maybe because of the head developer Ric Moore who is responsible for bringing Stardew Valley to mobile phones. He along with other people with experiences in various gaming and entertainment companies and agencies are
Gameplay
Not only does it look like a cross between Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon, but They also share the similar core gameplay of building your own village and managing resources to make your own town work efficiently as you develop your relationships with other characters whether they are NPCs or other players as well.
Players start off with a plot of land that they cultivate by rescuing animals, planting crops, and collecting materials that they would need for the adventure they are about to embark on later on in the game’s updates as there are stories in the game that revolve on folklore that we can discover. The game will then gradually form a settlement around the player’s home which they can then interact with to know more about their story and the world they find themselves in.
It has a very casual, non-stressful gameplay that just seeks to take you off to a fantasy world after a hard day of work and relax while living your life in your virtual farmhouse that you can design yourself while growing crops and raising pigs, chickens, sheep, and even alpacas. Currently, there are no social farming sim games in the crypto space which is the spot that Moon Frost is aiming to occupy.
An alpha version of the game will be released in Quarter 4 of 2022 and more of its gameplay will be revealed to all people interested in trying out the game so as of now we only can look at the whitepaper and some of the gameplay they post in their social media accounts to envision how it will look like inside the game.
Tokenomics/Earning Potential
Moon Frost is trying to be a good entry point for people to try blockchain gaming without the high barrier of entry that most blockchain games have these days which may be off-putting for a majority of people. It also seeks to incentivize people to play the game with cryptocurrency in the form of their own FROST token.
FROST is the utility token they use in the game and will utilize the Solana blockchain. On their first launchpad on DexLab, they priced one FROST at $0.30. The token is projected to be used in purchasing NFTs in the game as well as for staking and rewards.
Final Thoughts
As a fan of casual games, I can see a place for Moon Frost in the game’s market especially since it is the only one of its kind in the crypto space as of the time of writing. Since most play-to-earn games require a lot of skill to be able to get to the earning part, I appreciate what the developers of the game are trying to do and help people outside of blockchain games to ease into the space and maybe explore more blockchain gaming titles that may fit their style.
The laid-back, non-offensive gameplay Moon Frost features may help them get to know blockchain gaming if they are afraid of the pressure PVP game modes include that most titles in the crypto space probably try to have everybody engage in. I truly think Moon Frost is a breath of fresh air in the aggressive confines of the crypto space and I’m all for it.
