Mongens are hatched from Soul Cores that dripped from the Great Tree. These magnificent creatures lived peacefully for so many years. Until one day, an evil Chaos betrayed the Monsterra world, stole the powerful energy of the Great Tree to become the Supreme, and caused the Monsterra world to shatter into pieces. Now, the long-lasting peace was gone and other Mongens had searched for the Great Tree's stolen energy source with the hope of retrieving the source one day. Are you ready to lend your assistance to these Mongens in hopes to reclaim what is originally theirs?

Monsterra was conceptualized in the 4th quarter of 2021 and right now, the game is currently live and runs on BNB, Avalanche and OKX. You may try Monsterra without risking any of your own money because it's a "free-to-play, play-to-earn" game. There’s no entry fee, and the main game may be played in its entirety from the get-go. The team behind this project is putting in long hours developing this P2E game that will make the current crop of Play-to-earn games more enjoyable. According to the creators, this game may be both a fun place to spend time and a successful way to make money.
Monsterra is a blockchain based game inspired by Axie Infinity game’s pet world and the gameplay of Clash of Clans or Boom Beach of Supercell. If you know those games or have played them before, then you’ll have a good grasp of Monsterra’s gameplay. In here, you will enter a fictitious world and engage in activities like farming, property development, and inter-land battling using magical beings known as Mongen. Just like pets, you need to feed your Mongens then eventually evolve and breed them. The land is where you will take care of your Mongens and where you will grow food for them. Just be careful since you also need to defend your land from other players trying to loot from you. Aside from that you can also participate in these battle modes:
Adventure Mode: Use your Mongen squad to explore new lands and search for hidden resources.
Boss Challenge Mode: Lead your Mongen army to conquer surrounding lands inhabited by dreadful beasts. Once you are successful the resources and the land will be yours.
Battlefront Mode: Raid other player’s land to rob their resources.
Arena Mode: Engage in PvP with other players to gain MMR and rewards.
The game has a dual token model:
MSTR: This is the in-game currency for all transactions or activities in the ecosystem such as purchasing lands or items at the marketplace. You can also stake this in order for you to receive more rewards.
MAG: This is the secondary token in the game that will be used across all activities in Monsterra. This can be earned or minted though quest completion and spent (burned) through multiple gaming activities.
When looking at the game, it appears that the gameplay and mechanics are very much like those of Axie Infinity. The only significant difference is that you have the ability to level up and evolve your Mongens. As what was said earlier, the game is free-to-play and I think it’s a good thing that anyone can enjoy it without spending their wallet. Meanwhile, the game is easy to learn and what I like here is that when you first get into the game, you will be greeted by a basic tutorial. This greatly helps players ease into the game and improve player retention leading to a more positive experience.
A lot of games took inspiration from Axie Infinity and Monsterra being another Axie clone leads to the saturation of the market and decreased in originality, which can be unappealing to players looking for unique and creative experiences. With similar games like this, there will be a stiff competition in the market and I think this will make it more difficult for Monsterra to stand out and attract a dedicated player base.
Overall, I think the proliferation of clones or similar games can lead to a decrease in the overall quality and appeal of the market, which can have negative consequences for both players and game developers. But then again, Monsterra is a free-to-play, play-to-earn game and doesn’t cost you a penny if you’d like to try it.
