Treeverse: Will This Be the RuneScape of Blockchain Games?

Whether you played the original version of RuneScape or joined the community later, you can't deny that it's a renowned MMORPG. The initial success of this originally browser-based role-playing game allowed players to hop on with their friends and role play in ways that even the best premium games don't provide. If you're a huge fan of RuneScape and you're looking for a similar browser-based MMORPG in the web3 then Treeverse may be for you.

GAMEPLAY SUMMARY

Treeverse is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) with a fast-paced, multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) fighting system set in a fantastical and futuristic universe. Fight monsters, craft powerful weapons, hunt for gigantic fishes, organize different guilds, take on challenging dungeons, and delve into the game's extensive backstory. Treeverse provides incredibly exciting quests with an “emphasis on cooperative gameplay.” You can team up with others to take down dungeons and bosses while sharing loot in the process but If you don't want to follow a set storyline, you can explore the Treeverse's forests and finish up optional tasks at your own pace.

OVERALL IMPRESSION

There's no denying that MMORPGs are expanding into the web3 gaming space. Strategy card games like Axie Infinity and Cryptoblades are the traditional backbone of the blockchain gaming community. However, most card games are becoming dull since there is no way for characters to advance in the game. On the other hand, MMORPGs provide a rewarding experience as players advance through the game's levels, clear challenging dungeons, and triumph over challenging raids while also making friends along the way. That is exactly what I like about Treeverse since like Runescape it seems to offer a vast number of quests and different skills or characters all tied neatly together across a pretty large world.

Meanwhile, Treeverse's aesthetic vision is shifting towards one that's cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing. It seems that the Treeverse world blends sci-fi and fantasy universes together. The game's innovative design elements are definitely influenced by Journey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, as I have seen on the public gameplay video and demo.

Overall, the goal of the Treeverse project is to create a game that encourages players to engage with one other in meaningful ways, making for a unique and enjoyable gaming experience. Considering the lack of blockchain MMORPG in the scene, it's safe to say that Endless Clouds made the proper decision by constructing in this area. Treeverse has a lot of potential, but there is still a long way to go and many things to improve and add.
